Q: WHEN SHOULD I SEEK TO MODIFY CUSTODY, PARENTING TIME, OR CHILD SUPPORT?
A:
A modification of custody and/or parenting time may be appropriate when there is a substantial change in circumstances. Modifications are to advance the best interests of the child/children. It may also be appropriate to modify child support when cirumstances change. Substantial changes in circumstances can include changes in income, and/or expenses for the child.
Q: HOW LONG SHOULD A DIVORCE PROCEEDING TAKE TO FINALIZE?
A:
If both parties can agree on the major issues involved, a divorce can be finalized in as little as 60 days from the date it is initially filed. However, We understand that divorces come with conflict, and we are prepared to help you navigate through each stage of your divorce proceeding.
Q: HOW CAN I PURSUE BECOMING SOMEONE'S LEGAL GUARDIAN?

For a minor child or for an adult who requires special care, as legal guardian you are responsible for managing the affairs and property of the individual protected by the guardianship. You also become responsible for legal decisions made on that person's behalf

In Indiana, courts consider the best interests of the child in determining who should have custody. No presumption is given favoring either parent. The courts consider several factors, including the age of the child, the wishes of the parties involved, and the child's adjustment to home, school, and community.
